About Jillian

My journey with herbal medicine began in the 1990's when I was active in forest protection work in the Ozark mountains. During this time, I developed a special affinity for plants such as black cohosh, goldenseal, ginseng, bloodroot, and wild yam. I learned that these plants were not only indicators of a healthy ecosystem, but were prized for their medicinal activity.

I began my formal herbal education in 2001 at the California School of Herbal Studies, and then received my Master of Science Degree in Herbal Medicine from Maryland University of Integrative Health (formerly Tai Sophia Institute). I am currently a Registered Herbalist with the American Herbalists Guild, and a Licensed Dietary Nutritionist with the State of Maryland Board of Dietetic Practice.

In addition to seeing clients in my private practice, I serve as faculty for Maryland University of Integrative Health, where I enjoy working with graduate students, supporting them on their journeys to becoming clinical herbalists.

I find my own joy and healing in my garden, and by taking walks in the woods.
