Jillian has been learning about medicinal herbs for 20 years and practicing as a clinical herbalist and nutritionist for 12 years. Jillian received her Master of Science Degree in Herbal Medicine from Tai Sophia Institute (now Maryland University of Integrative Health), is a Registered Herbalist with the American Herbalists Guild, is a Certified Nutrition Specialist with the Board for Certification of Nutrition Specialists, and is a Licensed Dietary Nutritionist with the State of Maryland Board of Dietetic Practice. In addition to seeing clients in her private practice, Jillian serves as adjunct faculty for Maryland University of Integrative Health, teaching classes in the herbal medicine program, and supervising clinical students in both the herbal and nutrition programs. Jillian is also the Resident Herbalist and Nutritionist for Roots Market, an independent health food store with locations in Clarksville and Olney, Maryland.
Prior to her studies at Tai Sophia Institute, Jillian studied at the California School of Herbal Studies. She is a member of the American Botanical Council, United Plant Savers, and also served for many years on the board of directors for Heartwood, a non-profit forest protection organization. Jillian's work is informed by both her commitment to people's health, and her commitment to the health of the planet.
Jillian finds her joy in the garden, taking long walks in the woods, biking, kayaking, and most especially spending time with her family.
