Jillian found her passion for medicinal herbs in the Ozark Mountains while participating in forest protection work in the mid 1990's. She became fascinated with the plants that were indicators of a healthy forest and ecosystem, and the fact that many of these plants were highly valued for their medicinal properties. This interest led her to pursue education in herbal medicine and become a clinical herbalist.
In addition to her clinical practice, Jillian remains active at Roots Market in Clarksville, Maryland where she is an assistant manager in the Wellness Department. She is also on faculty at Tai Sophia Institute in Laurel, Maryland and is a visiting teacher for The Mountain Spirit School of Herbalism in Asheville, North Carolina.
